From This Day Counselling

Your story matters, let it be heard.

About me

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) working with individuals aged 18 and older. I am fully insured, I have regular professional supervision, and I undertake ongoing CPD.

My core modality is person-centred; however, I am trained to integrate other psychological approaches to tailor the therapy to the client's individual needs/ presenting issues.

An interest in human behaviour and emotion is something that interested me from a young age and prompted me to obtain a psychology degree from the University

of Wales, Swansea. More recently I have completed a Counselling FdA from the University of Plymouth.

Qualifications

  • Foundation Degree in Counselling (University of Plymouth);
  • Degree in Psychology (University of Swansea, 2002 - 2005);
  • Level 2 Counselling Certificate (City of Bristol College);
  • Experience of volunteering for and then running a mental health information line and training in active listening;
  • Experience of volunteering for a 24/7 text messaging service for individuals struggling to cope; and
  • Experience of volunteering for a student listening service.

Supporting Your Journey to Healing and Growth

As a counsellor, I can offer you support in working through emotional blocks and unhelpful behaviours. My work is focussed on enabling you to find the healing change and growth that comes from deeper self-understanding.

It is not essential that you know exactly why you are considering therapy. Perhaps you have a deep longing to be truly heard. What brings you to therapy is something that we explore together as you begin to feel supported by the therapeutic process and the feeling of trust and safety that is created between us in our therapeutic relationship.

I can offer you the time to pause, reflect and contemplate so that you can explore and find what is needed to live life to the full. When the right environment is provided and connections are formed, change can happen. We can do this together at your own pace. I am empathic, non-judgemental and here to support you in your journey.
